Background Info and Interests A native of Indiana, Jonnie Wilhite came to Michigan to earn Masters Degrees from Western Michigan University. After earning the First Degree at the University of Grenoble in France, she took her first job as an instructor of French and English at Purdue University. In 1968 KVCC opened, and she has been a French, Spanish and English instructor at KVCC ever since. Jonnie Wilhite also coordinates the foreign language program to keep in step with national current trends emphasizing global cultural awareness and oral proficiency. She is very active as a team member for the Midwest Institute for International and Intercultural Education. Wilhite's interests include travel within the U.S. and especially to other countries, attending theatrical presentations, and maintaining good health through exercise--walking, running and lifting weights.
