INTRODUCTION

The Ideal gas law can be used to obtain useful information about the gas and used for other elements or compounds used in the reaction. The four parameters in the Ideal gas law are Pressure, Volume, Temperature and number of moles. These parameters can be used to determine the  density of a gas, its molar volume or the molar mass or using the stoichiometric relationships the molar mass of a substance used to generate a gas.

The types of measurements that will be taken are:

  1. Pressure of a gas, using a barometer.
  2. Temperature using a Celsius thermometer.
  3. Volumes using a beaker and a graduate cylinder.

This laboratory exercise will focus on precision in measurements and not the accuracy.
